Flash I found at Adorama

It was almost too good to be true. In the past I would never use a generic flash made by a third party. Sony always works well with Sony especially my video gear, but this time that was not the case. Flashpoint Zoom TTL R2 flash has been wonderful. I bought two of these with a wireless trigger. Not only does it shoot at crazy high speeds on TTL it’s a great price. I could not believe how well it worked shooting a wedding. I would recommend this to anyone in the wedding industry especially the price. https://www.adorama.com/fplfsmzso.html

Jerry’s Custom Sony Settings

This blog post showcases three of the different Sony cameras I use for video and my preferred menu settings. Sometimes the settings get changed around between projects or at the wedding and it can be so frustrating.

Sony α7S II Settings for Video

I use this Sony α7S II camera to shoot most of my wedding video work. With this Sony α7S II I get a nice cinematic product for my brides and grooms. This video below records my custom menu settings and will definitely help save time when something gets bumped or changed. Having to reset all the functions is not the fun part of making a creative and wonderful wedding or commercial video.

Sony α7R II Settings

I am constantly changing the settings on my α7R II from a wedding video camera to a still photography camera. It seems like it never ends, menu diving! You think you changed one thing, but you changed another and the first thing is still the same. This video will fix that because it’s settled and recorded in this video.

Sony a7R III Settings

There’s nothing worse than starting over with the factory settings. Certain features, shortcuts and custom settings are key for working fluidly. Having them set consistently makes my life easier. So even if we need to change some of the settings for a particular photography or videography project, having this video helps reference back to my generally preferred settings.

Maybe these videos will help you as well. It’s a great reference in navigating the different menu options and customization available with these amazing Sony full-frame mirrorless cameras.

A7r II in the studio

This was a pleasant experience using this camera in the studio for a product shoot today. Shooting products on white for our customers is a common occurrence my entire career. I  am finding the Sony camera is giving me a true color rendition compared to Cannon color. Cannon color is wonderful for skin tones. Its always a toss up with this question when you go to grab your camera.
